A Story That Lives in the Mountains
The story of Hotel La Fradora in the Dolomites begins with a simple farmhouse built after the war by Emilio Pescollderungg, the great-grandfather of today’s owners. On that small piece of land in San Cassiano in Alta Badia, he created more than a home — he planted the roots of what would become a family legacy.
In 1970, Anna and Giuseppe Pescollderungg welcomed their first guests into a few modest rooms. What began as a humble bed & breakfast soon became a meeting place for travellers drawn to the quiet beauty of Alta Badia. Their warmth and Ladin spirit gave La Fradora its soul — a blend of simplicity, authenticity and genuine care.
Over time, each generation added something new while preserving what mattered most. In 1999, Francesca and Christian Pescollderungg transformed the house into a small family hotel and restaurant, named after the family’s alpine pasture — “La Fradora,” meaning “sheep meadow” in Ladin.
Years later came new rooms, a wellness area, and spaces shaped by natural light and local wood — yet the essence remained unchanged. Every renovation was guided by one idea: to keep the story alive while letting it grow.
Today, La Fradora is still what it has always been — a family-run hotel in the Dolomites, built on Ladin tradition, respect for nature and the quiet joy of making guests feel at home.
